COMPASS MEMBER PROFILES Bryan M. Black has been a licensed attorney in the State of Michigan since 1987 when he graduated from TM Cooley Law School. Bryan’s law practice includes all injury events, criminal, social security disability, and labor law. Bryan is also licensed in the Eastern & Western Federal Courts. He is a mediator to St. Clair County Circuit Court (1992-present) and participates in Alternative Dispute Resolution, private mediations of all disputes and holds a mediator position for the State of Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission. Bryan Black’s business ownerships include, Law Office Of Bryan M. Black, Paul Mitchell The School-Sterling Heights, Paul Mitchell The School-Great Lakes, and Paul Mitchell The School-Fort Myers (2010) where he is in charge of regional operations and is legal counsel for each school. Bryan has attended the Paul Mitchell summits for the years 2004-2008 and was the Community Success Speaker on Labor Law in 2008-2009. Additionally, Bryan Black is owner and manager of multiple real estate investments through his business entity BMB Realty. Bryan Black is a past Board Member for multiple 501C(3) Organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Massive Impact, WNFA Christian Radio, and Blue Water Center for Independent Living. Currently he is a board member with Youth For Christ. Marty Doorn has been a member of the COMPASS Strategic Planning Team since it’s inception in 2005. He is the owner and founder of WGRT 102.3FM Radio since 1991. Marty earned his Masters Degree from MTS with a Master of Divinity. In his spare time, Marty serves on the Board of Landmark Academy, the Chamber of Commerce, RBC Ministries and Maranatha Bible Conference. Marty was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He and his wife Sue have three children – Heather, Michelle, and Marty – and are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren. They reside in Port Huron. Michele Hayre joined COMPASS in 2009 and represents 2 separate businesses:
Michele is a native resident of St Clair County, having been raised in Marysville and now living in Burtchville. She graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and is a strong advocate for children. She is an active member of several groups including Great Start Parent Coalition, secretary for the Great Start Collaborative, Chairperson of Celebrate Your Child, and volunteer for March of Dimes. Michele and her husband Dave have three children (Cory 19, Jenna 9, and Aren 4) and one granddaughter (Isabella, born 6-15-10). Michele and Dave attend Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron. During her spare time, Michele loves to play games, read, and spend time connecting with friends on facebook.
Tom Seppo has been a member of the COMPASS Strategic Planning Team from the very beginning. COMPASS was started as a branch of Operation Transformation. Rev. Tom Seppo has been the Executive Director for Operation Transformation since January of 2002. (Preceding that, he was a minister for 22 years.) Operation Transformation is a local faith-based non-profit organization whose purpose is: “to foster a united, life-giving church in the Greater Blue Water Area that works together with civic and service organizations to develop ways to meet the many needs of the citizens of our community”. The goal is to see “Churches Cooperating for a Changed Community”. Programs and activities have naturally fallen into 5 categories:
Tom earned a B.A. degree in 1979 from Spring Arbor University and received a Master’s Degree in Theology in 2009. Tom has been married to his wife Brenda since 1979 and they have 3 children: Rebecca (Aaron), Andrea (Joshua), and Andrew. He resides in Fort Gratiot, Michigan. Jeff Kaczperski has been involved with Compass for almost 6 years as a member of the Planning Committee. He represents Omega Plastics which offers a variety of manufacturing solutions that help clients launch their new products more effectively. Jeff enjoys the support of COMPASS and it members in learning how to walk out his call to the marketplace. Jeff is also the Board Chairman of the S.O.N.S. ministry. Jeff was born in Port Huron and raised in St. Clair. After graduating from the University of Michigan, Jeff joined his father, founder of Omega Plastics, in business in 1989. Jeff and his wife Dawn have been blessed with two children, Corbin and Kelsie, and enjoy attending their kid’s hockey and dance activities. The family attends Cross Current Church. Jeff enjoys spending time with family and friends, adventure racing, traveling, and learning about business and leadership.
Christopher Gearhart has been involved with Compass for 4 years and is a member of the Planning Committee. He started Eighth Day Media, LLC in March of 2005. He specializes in Graphic Design, Print Media, Website Solutions & Video Production. From initial design concepts, through all necessary revisions, to delivery; he will work with excellence and within in a timely manner to ensure complete satisfaction. Dan Lundblad has enjoyed his association with Compass Christian Business Alliance during the past 5 years. He represents 3 separate organizations as a member of Compass:
Dan was raised in the Republic of Congo with his parents who were pioneer missionaries in Central Africa. He graduated with his Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut and has been working with families in counseling since 1970. Dan and his wife Joan have two adult children and twin grandsons who are the love of his life. Dan and Joan are members of the Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church in Clyde, MI. In addition to his love for people, Dan enjoys baking bread, traveling and kayaking. |
